Corica Park Holiday Shoe Drive: Helping Kids Step Into Play

Every golfer knows the importance of a good pair of shoes. Access for all children to sport and to the vital health benefits of green space is central to all of our no-cost youth programs. However, without well-fitting footwear, kids are left out of opportunities for play that nurture learning, build confidence and support physical fitness.

This holiday season, we hosted our first annual shoe drive in partnership with Shoes That Fit. With the support of our amazing Corica Park community and Greenway Golf matching donations, we raised over $6,000 and provided more than 200 pairs of athletic shoes to deserving Alameda youth.

Shoe recipients are children and teens served by Alameda Point Collaborative , All Good Living Foundation, and Camp EDMO at Ruby Bridges Elementary. These organizations work tirelessly year-round to provide services for low-income families, including youth transitioning out of homelessness.

Our team enjoyed a holiday party at Ruby Bridges Elementary for our first distribution. The smiles on the faces of the new shoe owners said it all, and the Greenway Golf elves can't wait to make their last two stops in coming weeks.

If you still looking for ways to give back this holiday season, the drive will remain open until December 31st. Funds raised will go towards a fresh round of new shoe deliveries in 2024.

Thank you to all the donors for your generosity and community spirit this holiday season!
